PORCELAIN & FIBERGLASS REFINISHING

REFINISHING PROCESS

Refinishing, is a process of restoring fiberglass, formica, tile and porcelain bathtubs, sinks, showers and countertops to a like-new condition.

Here is how is done:

1. Cleaning the surface

The process begins with a deep cleaning to remove any soap build up, scum, dirt or any other contaminant, leaving the surface ready for the etching step.

2. Etching:

An acidic solution is applied to remove the original manufacturer's enamel. Etching is a crucial step of the process because it creates a rough surface that allows a strong adhesion of the coatings.

3. Repairing damage:

Any chips, cracks, or rusted areas are carefully repaired to create a smooth surface before we apply the new finish.

4. Masking:

All surrounding areas are masked to prevent overspray and ensuring clean professional job.

5.Apply the finish:

Multiple coats of epoxy resin and acrylic are sprayed onto the prepared surface. this last step gives the surface a glossy, durable, like-new appearance.

MATERIAL APLICATION

  • The coatings are sprayed, so a window or door is needed to run a ventilation hose to the outside to remove over spray and odors of the material being used
  • For children, pets or persons with respiratory sensitivity, it is highly recommended but not necessary to leave but do need to stay away from the work area while the job is being performed.
  • It is recommended to return at least 2 hours after the job is completed.

PROCESS DURATION

  • The process takes between 4-6 hours for most tubs, sinks and showers, but can take longer depending on the job's conditon.
  • After job is done, it will need 24-48 hours of curing time.
  • For an aditional fee, a different material can be used, reducing the curing time to 1 day.

NOTE:

  • The coatings are sprayed on so a window or door is needed to run a ventilation hose to the outside to remove over spray and odors of the material being used.

BENEFITS

  • Refinishing is a great alternative to replacing, offering a cost-effective way to refresh the appearance of a bathroom or kitchen area.
  • The process takes a few hours to complete in comparison to replacing which can take days sometimes weeks to complete.
  • It'll give your kitchen or bathroom area a fresh appearance for a fraction of the price. Saving you thousands!!

POOL AND SPA RESURFACING

POOL & SPA RESURFACING

  • Pool or spa resurfacing is the process of renewing the interior surface of a swimming pool or spa by removing any old material and applying a new layer of fiberglass .
  • Resurfacing involves, cleaning, repairing any cracks, sanding or grinding the existing fiberglass or plaster surface, creating a rough surface so the new material can bond to.
  • The new finish is done by applying a new layer of water and chemical resistant resin and fiberglass.

BENEFITS

  • Fixes multiple issues like cracks, leaks, discoloration, and rough textures.
  • Durability, it enhances and improves the strength and longevity of the pool surface.
  • Water saving, resurfacing addresses leaks and prevents future water loss and possibly major structural damages.
  • Gives a new aesthetic appeal to the pool or spa's appearance to make it visually cleaner and more attractive, giving your back yard a complete modern and beautiful look.

REINFORCEMENTS

FLOOR REINFORCEMENT

  • When a bathtub or shower pan, most of the time fiberglass, has a cracked or damaged floor, water can get through to the sub-floor damaging the wood, making the floor unstable and putting at risk all supports underneath the tub.
  • If the cracked or damaged area is minor, the reinforcement can be done with construction foam and a new layer of resin and fiberglass.
  • If damage is major, then the floor needs to be cut out, the sub-floor cleaned and filled with cement, making a solid, stable and more durable base, even stronger than the original floor base.
  • After the concrete cures, a fiberglass and resin layer is then applied.
  • Curing time is 24 hours for fiberglass and 48 hours if the floor was also refinished.

BENEFITS

  • Stops potential structural water damage to the support structure.
  • Avoids having to replace the bathtub and re-do subfloors which can be an expensive and extensive job.
  • Creates a more stable and durable bath tub floor.

4 STEPS PROCESS

STEP 1: CUT OUT THE FLOOR

STEP 2: CLEAN ALL DAMAGE

STEP: 3 FILL WITH CONCRETE

STEP 4: APPLY NEW RESIN & FIBERGLASS

LOW-PROFILE ENTRANCE

WHAT IS IT

  • A low profile entrance, is done by cutting a portion on the side of the bathtub then adding a ready to install kit or making one from fiberglass.
  • This job can be done to almost any bathtub porcelain or fiberglass.
  • The process takes between 4-6 hours and needs to cure for 48 hours.

BENEFITS

  • Designed for safety and covenience, it allows individuals with mobility challenges to enter and exit the bathtub easilly, without the need to step over the high edge.
  • Minimizes the risk of slipping and falling, causing potentially serious body injuries.
  • It's low profile, it doesn't let the tub hold too much water minimizing the risk of kids and small pets drowning.
